Overview
The Student Cooking with TUCO project is a new national content toolkit designed to help members inspire students, showcase campus catering and celebrate food culture across the sector. Built around the principle that members know their students best, the programme provides ready-to-use content and coordinated national campaigns that make it easier to engage students while promoting the value of campus food services.
The resource will provide TUCO members with high-quality, ready-made content that can be quickly shared through existing student channels such as social media, student newsletters, digital screens and campus websites. The programme aims to highlight the skills and expertise of chefs, caterers and suppliers across the TUCO network, while supporting the promotion of healthy, affordable and sustainable eating for students. By providing consistent, engaging content, the initiative will also help members increase awareness of campus catering, drive footfall into outlets and strengthen student loyalty.
Alongside the online hub, members will also have the option to host Student Cooking Masterclasses on campus, delivered in partnership with The Academy by Lifetime. These interactive sessions bring students directly into the food conversation, with themed cook-along classes and professionally produced video content that can be shared across student channels. The masterclasses create a powerful way to showcase your catering team, generate student engagement and create lasting digital content linked to your university.
TUCO and Campus Life will be holding a meeting on the 23rd of April at 1pm so members can learn more about the Student Cooking with TUCO project in more detail and find out how they and their students can benefit from this exciting new resource.
